The innovative GoVault cartridge is secure, removable and has all the flexibility of removable media in a fast, tough, disk solution. It is available in capacities up to 80GB and is read/write compatible and interchangeable with any GoVault dock. With typical transfer rates up to 34MBps, performance isn't compromised for convenience and flexibility. The GoVault solution is compatible with all Windows operating systems and is certified by most major backup software packages. The intelligent dock is installed into a standard 5.25" server or desktop bay. The 3.4-ounce removable cartridge features a tough shell and a tamper-evident screw assembly. The cartridge is constructed to withstand falls up to one meter � helping ensure the safety of your network.

Simple to install, easy to use

The IBM GoVault Drive makes backup easy. Utilizing the industry-standard SATA interface, the unit has been successfully tested with IBM motherboards and SATA Host Bus Adapters (HBA). The IBM GoVault Drive can be used as a traditional removable media backup device, similar to a tape drive, by using Windows backup software or any GoVault tested backup software solution. It can also work as a traditional HDD�with drag and drop data simplicity. GoVault dock intelligent innovation helps protect data from user-interrupted errors�a safe-eject feature allows removal of the cartridge only after read and write activities have stopped.

Simplify operations

Each GoVault solution includes intelligent GoVault system software. The GoVault dock combined with the GoVault system software provide tools that can work in the background of the Windows operating system to help monitor and maintain optimum performance and protection.

GoVault system software will automatically set transfer ratesbetween the IBM GoVault drive and the host system to Direct Memory Access (DMA) operation. DMA allows certain hardware subsystems within a computer to access system memory for reading and/or writing independently of the CPU. GoVault system software can monitor the condition and usage of both the cartridge and dock to help ensure data reliability and retrievability. Cartridges can be password protected to prevent unauthorized access.
